Welcome! You have reached the home page of the official Letchworth Arcadians web-site. Letchworth Arcadians is one of the premiere amateur operatic societies in the East of England.

Kiss Me Kate has now come to an end! Hope you did not miss this spectacular celebration of Cole Porter music.

Next up is Carousel in November.

Formed in 1952, the Society has recently celebrated its golden jubilee.

With over 200 members and patrons, the Arcadians present two major productions per year at the well-appointed Gordon Craig Theatre, Stevenage, and one junior production at the Plinston Hall, Letchworth.

Commercially, the Society turns over approximately £100K each year, and is a registered charity..


Awards:
Letchworth Arcadians are affiliated to the National Operatic & Dramatic Association (NODA), and in recent times has been three-times winner for the best production in its region (“Annie” in 1998, “The Boyfriend” in 2000 and “Scrooge - the musical” in 2001).

In 2002 it won the NODA Eastern Area Councillor’s Cup for best production in the entire Eastern Area (“Salad Days”).

In 2003, the Young Arcadians were inaugural winners of the Avery Shield for best junior production in NODA Eastern Area region 9 for their presentation of 'Bugsy Malone', and in 2004 they were awarded the Avery Trophy for 'Annie', the best youth production in the area, making it two years running!

In 2005 Young Arcadians won another award for their production of 'Little Shop of Horrors'.
