Stepping Out, Tuesday 25th to Saturday 29th April 2006

On Tuesday 25th to Saturday 29th April 2006 we will perform "Stepping Out" in the Gordon Craig Theatre, Stevenage.

We were due to present 'Follies' this week, but we have regrettably had to change our plans. We are delighted to be able to present the awrd-winning play 'Stepping Out'. The brilliant script is by Richard Harris.

"Stepping Out" enjoyed a hugely successful West End run and won Evening Standard Best Comedy Award for 1984. It is by the brilliant author Richard Harris who many will know for another of his comedies "Outside Edge".
Stepping Out is a warm and very funny play about the lives of a group of women -and one man - attending a weekly tap-dance class in a dingy North London church hall.
Mavis Turner, a has-been Broadway hoofer, now teaches tap lessons and sings in a bar in her spare time. The charming group of misfits and pianist who all come together once a week for their tap lesson share with Mavis the joys and sadness of their lives.
As the play progresses, the class's dancing improves to such an extent that they are invited to star at a grand charity show performance. This drives their transformation from tripping-over-their-feet into triumphant tappers, worthy of any chorus line !
So, come and see what can be achieved !
