"You'll find me at Maxim's" lilts the handsome Count Danilovitsch, as he jilts Madame
Anna Glavari. And it’s not surprising as you will find the beautiful forms of Lolo, Dodo, Jou-
Jou, Frou-Frou, Clo-Clo, and Margot there! Meanwhile, every unattached man in Paris,
well 24 of them anyway, is trying desperately to gain a Dance Card to win Anna’s arm at
the Potevedrian Ambassador’s ball. This is all performed by Letchworth Arcadians to Franz
Lehár’s beautiful music in the ever-popular operetta, The Merry Widow, at the Gordon Craig
Theatre, Stevenage, from 1st to 6th November. Hear, Anna, played by high soprano, Adèle
Walker, crack the chandeliers, and find out whether the Widow’s "20 millions" will win over
Danilo played by the popular baritone, Wesley Hughes, or whether she finds another suitor.
The show is directed by Peter Davies, who also plays the part of the Ambassador, Baron
Zeta. Musical direction is by Graham Albone. There is a full professional orchestra and a cast
of 50. Tickets are selling fast so call the box office on 01438 363200, or visit www.gordon-
